New Single - Vibe Check
djinn. releases single Vibe Check on 5.19.23
djinn. is excited to announce the release of his new single Vibe Check on 5.19.23. Vibe Check is a Lo-Fi RnB track about djinn.’s first heartbreak and the disruption that it brought to his regularly chill “vibes” and energy. The mellow vocals and combination of djinn.’s nonchalant lyrics over a smooth guitar conveys his true feelings about the betrayal. The bubbly, carefree vocals represent a curated attitude of being “unbothered” by this unfaithfulness as the artist had spent the past 23 years single and initially didn’t think romance was all that important. Despite this, the lyrics reveal his heart’s true response.
With two releases under his belt, djinn. has been gaining steady traction with his previously released single “Cocoa Butter Zen” as well as his “Dungeons” Water Temple Lyric Visualizer on Facebook; this video is also available on YouTube.
Vibe Check was recorded in djinn’s bedroom studio consisting of nothing more than an Aston mic, Scarlett interface, MacBook Air, and a walk-in closet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Vibe Check was mixed by Reggie Nic in New Orleans, LA who has mixing credits with artists like JoJo and PJ Morton and was mastered by Rodger Willis in Bolingbrook, IL.
djinn.: "There is beauty in heartbreak, I was very angry at the person that I wrote the song about, but now I’m only appreciative of him. He brought out my creative energies and I didn’t even know I had a talent for songwriting until I wrote my first song about him”
